Wounded Eagle Flies High Once Again

Young Eaglet rises above wounds to soar on high as an Eagle.

After an early life wing clipping a young eaglet struggled to survive. With the help of friends and relatives the young bird was able to over come his injuries and with tender loving care being provided by other members of his clan he rose above the situation and made a successful release.

Was it easy? NO, did he reject some of the attention? yes, did he rebel at times against the system he was cast into?yes again. But he made it and on a day a few Sundays past he was the center of attention as he was pinned, winged and released into a new world of adventure, excitement and achievement.

Got your interest? Well read on because I thing the story of this little creature is just beggining. The future is bright, his flight will take him to unheard of hights and he will be able to soar into the heavens like no one evr thought he would.

And now the rest of the story!

His mother died when he was 6 years old.Β  At 9 years old, his grandparents ( Anne and Bill Tewelow) were given guardianship of him.Β  His grandfather had started him in Scouting at age 6 with Cub Pack 749 at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church and would pick him up each week to take him to Scouts and continued to do so for the rest of his scouting career with Boy Scout Troop 749..Β

As a scout he excelled and in doing so learned a lot of new skills. As a scout he was required to complete requirements for merit badges to build a well rounded young person. he did this and did it very well. His continued journey along the trails required to gain scoutings awards were diversified. He took on all the normal merits but also was proficient inoutdoor activities, cooking, theater and
the arts and nuclear sciences.Β

His journey also traversed areas of leadership, again which he took onΒ as a challenge and conquered.Β From the basics of being a Patrol Leader in the scouts to teaching art classes and boomerang classes at Summer Camps at the Art Station and the Mable House Art Center.

He has selected to participate as a tutor in the mentoring programs at
school.

From interests developed through badges he selected, he earned aΒ Deputy
Black Belt in Karate, took up fencing, horseback riding, and skiing to mention just a few.

He was a member of the Atlanta Young Singers for eight years, performing in concerts three times a year and culminating with two week tours to
Brazil and Argentina.

Devin also participated in the classes and Summer Camp activities at the Mable House Cultural Center, The Jenny Anderson Theater and the Art Station, particularly in the theater classes.Β

His activities and accomplishments have earned him a $7,000 per year
scholarship to Andrew College. His main drive and educational pursuit are directed towards Drama and Theatre

He enters Andrew as an honor student who also lays claim to the assistance
earned through the HOPE Scholarship.

He is a 2012 honor graduate of Center Academy of Smyrna, Georgia.

So this little eaglet is now set with a full beavy of feathers to carry him upΒ  up and away into the heavens and untold possibilities.

Congratulations Devin.
