Remember these numbers. 25 - 1400 - 70,000

Last minute push to allow for the feeding of 1400 families this next week

When you think of those numbers they may not jump right out at you but they should.

Twenty Five is the number of years the Center for Family Resources has been conducting a feeding program "Thanks for Giving" for those less fortunate citizens in Cobb County.

Fourteen Hundred is the number of families, not just people but families, that will be served a complete package(box if you will) full of canned foods and other staples that will provide meals including Thanksgiving dinner to those families. The Thanksgiving meal is important so as to allow the family to come together and be thankful for what they have. Additionaly it serves the children of the families who might otherwise go hungry. The week of Thanksgiving is a week that has the schools out on break. Those children who might normally get breafast and lunch at school would be getting nothing if not for this program. "Thanks for Giving" is a wonderful and massive success.

70,000 is the number of food items that will be collected, packaged and distributed on Friday and Saturday of this week at Jim Miller Park. Each family also gets a certificate to purchase a turkey for their family dinner.

One problem was the cost to supply 1400 cooking pans. Victoria Turney asked John Delves to handle the challenge. he did and with the help of seven lawyers in Marietta was able to get the pans or cover the cost so other money could be used for food items.

Roy Barnes, Larry Burke, Cleve Paine, Vic Reynolds, Jim Berry and other lawyers all chipped in and the pans were covered.

It's not too late to give whatever you can to make this year an even bigger success. Contact Jennifer Cain at the Center for Family resources on Roswell Road right there in Marietta;Β to offer whatever you might be able to do.

God Bless you Everyone
