It's Party Time, Well, Almost

Politics as usual and that just isn't good, at least not for the voters.

Elections come and elections go, but the work of the candidates campaign committee seems to go on forever.

July 31st was one such day. The voters came out in about a 30 percent showing and they selected winners and almost winners.

The race for Superior Court Clerk is in a runnoff, as is the State Court Judges position, District 41 has yet to be decided but TSPLOST was soundly defeated and should have sent a message to the legislature.

The Chairman's race and a commissioner's race are yet to be decided so we all have to go back this week (early vote) and next Tuesday to put the nails in the coffin.

Next Wednesday, we will know if Bill Byrne returns to his seat as Chairman or not. We will see if Woody Thompson can hold onto his seat as 4th district commissioner and we'll see if Larry Burke can muster the voters back out and win in the runoff. Then the 41st house seat will be decided between two democratic folk who will have to keep working at least until November 6th.

Is there no end to this madhouse of politics?

If you have not voted for the runoff, please go back on Tuesday and get your choice of candidate elected, probably won't be very crowded so you can get in, vote, get your little sticker and be on your way.

At least a lot of decisions will be made by voters on Tuesday.

Please encourage residents to attend CCt flex bus meeting at the South Cobb Library on Tuesday JuneRead More 18t 6pm-8pm. The first meeting only had 11 residents there and none were bus riders. I have encouraged residents that have teens to attend meeting because this help our teens get to jobs or social activities and not just hang out in the neighborhood. We must also plan for the future and underswtrand that just because you are driving today, it may not be the case all the time. Your situation can change with a blink of an eye.
