Dreams do come true...and in this case it was a CUPCAKE.

SMALLCAKES BIGGER TASTING CUPCAKES and More. You just have to try one of these to really appreciate the fine texture, taste, variety and looks of the "best cupcakes Lori Pitts has ever tasted.

"I always wanted to work for myself and this was my dream come true" Oh well that's what got this enterprise off the floor and into the display cases at Smallcakes.

So how do you go from counting beans to spreading icing? That's what this story is all about. Lori Pitts, the daughter in law of my long time friend (1958) Jim Pitts; was very successful in the business of CPA's. Still with all her success there was a small ingredient missing from total happiness. That ingredient has turned out to be cupcake batter and some unbelievable toppings.

Lori' research led her to find a popular franchise operation founded by Jeff Martin who is from Kansas City.  Jeff had created a niche and each morning was baking 15 signature flavors and the frosting's. Jeff was featured on "Cupcakes Wars" season one and two. He went on to be featured on "The View" and as they say the rest is history. Lori explored, listened and signed up to become one of the newest "Smallcakes"Tm franchisees. There are currently 13 stores in eight states right now but after talking with Jeff Martin this morning I know there are already sites for several more and a couple right here in Georgia.

"Maybe a Cupcake Will Help" is the company slogan and after having sampled several at the Open House/ Grand Opening this Saturday I agree.You just have to stop by the operation at Dallas Highway, across from the Avenue West and right above Periwinkle's . WOW and WOW again is all I can say. Smallcakes also serves seasonal and special flavors created by the founder,Jeff Martin.

Lori grew up in Smyrna, her husband is the son of Jim Pitts a very well known Dentist off Concord Road and is now a West Cobb Resident. Her children are involved in the community as she is. She plays tennis and is a member of the Burnt Hickory Baptist Church.

More than 100 people stopped by from 10:00 until noon on Saturday and the afternoon was sure to be an even bigger event as word gets out about these Cupcakes. Ten O'clock was the official ribbon cutting ceremony and it was attended by the crowd already mentioned and also included members of the West Cobb Business Association. The new business is already signed up as a member of the WCBA and the opening ceremony is already  posted on the WCBA site.

I already mentioned where the store is located but the address is actually;

3718 Dallas Highway, Marietta and its in Ste 8.  You can view their site at www.smallcakescupcakery.com

The store with its friendly staff is ready to serve you  an ever changing menu of delicious gourmet cupcakes accompanied by very satisfying "smallcakes" brand coffee, cupcakes milkshakes, hot chocolate and other refreshing drink selections.

They provide complimentary WIFI and guest have plenty of room sit, relax and visit with Lori and her staff. Children have a special seating area. During the holiday season you just might want to try a new tradition and bring in a selection of these cupcakes. You will most certainly be going down in history for thinking of such a wonderful idea.

Hope to see you all over there very soon.

I love Lori's new venture and wish her great success. No one has mentioned that she grew up with her Mother Joan and her Grandmother Sara making all kinds of cakes for all occasions all of her growing up years. I am sure that has contributed to her interest in this dream.
