The fourth suspect wanted in connection with the hit-and-run that killed a 36-year-old Mableton man turned himself in at the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. Dana Pierce with the Cobb County Police Department said in a statement this afternoon.

Kemonta Bonds, 18, of Mableton, surrendered just hours after Pierce circulated a picture of Bonds to metro Atlanta media outlets. His family members were with him, Pierce said.

Original report 11:10 a.m.

Three teenagers have been arrested in connection with the hit-and-run that killed a 36-year-old Mableton man, and Cobb police hope the public can help investigators find the fourth suspect.

Jekari Strozier, 19; Antonio Pass, 18; and Johnathan Anthony, 18, are in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on multiple charges, including felony murder, aggravated assault, and violation of the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, said Sgt. Dana Pierce with the Cobb County Police Department.

This morning, Pierce circulated a picture of the fourth suspect in the hopes that someone recognizes 18-year-old Kemonta Bonds and alerts authorities of his whereabouts. Bonds faces the same charges as the three other suspects. All of the teens are from Mableton.

About 1:21 a.m. Sunday, a vehicle struck Joshua Heath Chellew without stopping, police said. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he died.

"The only information available about the vehicle at this time is that it was possibly a small red vehicle," Officer Michael Bowman said at the time.

Pierce said this morning that the driver of that "small red vehicle" turned himself in to Cobb police.

"At this point in the investigation, he is not being named and charges are not expected to be filed against him," he said.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is asked to call 770-499-3945 or 404-577-TIPS (8477). Tips can be sent by texting CRIMES to 274637.

"Any information provided is strictly confidential, and that individual may be eligible for a reward up to $2,000," Pierce said.
