Brief Bio: (note: Equalizer in my name means that I believe in and work for EQUITY which simply means a level playing field for all.)

Parent of eight children. Founder, director, member, and collaborator for several non-profit humanitarian and advocacy organizations, including crisis and referral centers, community food pantries, homeless and women’s shelters , addiction prevention and treatment centers, faith-based initiatives, and immigrant aid & advocacy organizations.

Regularly interviewed and quoted regarding immigration, immigrants and civil rights issues by local and national media, including Atlanta Journal Constitution, LA Times, Newsweek, CNN, Fox Cable News Network, and local CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX affiliates.

Recent work is featured in research publications "Black Brown Coalitions in the Southeast" (found at http://www.southerncouncil.org/pdf/BlackBrownCoalitions.pdf; by GA State University & Southern Regional Council) and "Terror and isolation in Cobb: How Unchecked Police Power under 287(g) Has Torn Families Apart and Threatened Public Safety"  (http://www.acluga.org/racial%20profiling%20Cobb.pdf  by the ACLU).

Wrote and published professional and faith-based articles, newspaper columns, training materials, courses, and booklets; produced and hosted faith-based and self-help radio and television programs and series—relating to immigration and other social justice issues (New book, in English & Spanish, Immigrant Survival Manual/MANUAL DE SUPERVIVENCIA PARA INMIGRANTES  at www.laboroflovecampaign.org .)

Professional Fields & Positions include: Counseling, Business Management Consulting & Development, Sales & Marketing, Education, Entrepreneur.

Traveled extensively in Europe and Caribbean and lived in Caribbean for six years. Have lived and served on Native American Reservations, and in urban and rural ghettos.

Owned and operated various businesses, including consulting, marketing, manufacturing, HVAC, & high-tech.

Spiritual endeavors include: Taught Comparative Religion courses at Community Colleges; Studied and embraced all of the world’s major religions and traditional native religions; Life-long study of all spiritual paths (ongoing); Conducted workshops on many topics, teaching and learning.
