Let's Get Cooking with John and Patty– Fried Green Tomatoes

We took a few liberties and added a little Italian Flair to everyone’s favorite: fried green tomatoes.

No, not the movie.  But, speaking of movie classics, we think an Italian outlook is always in order. After all, look how deliciously entertaining the Spaghetti Western’s turned out!! Fried Green Tomatoes with Roasted Red Pepper Sauce In case we haven’t mentioned it enough times, our dad worked at the public market, and also had a rather large garden out back. Green tomatoes were often on the menu.  We always loved and waited for dad to make his special “Pomodori Verdi Fritti” a.k.a. fried green tomatoes.  Naturally, we assumed  they were an Italian tradition until…John moved to the South, and we quickly realized they’re really an original Southern dish.  Each and every home has their version, and they’re on almost every restaurant menu.   …
