Heavy Rain for Mableton and Austell

Two more rounds of heavy rain are prompting concerns of flash flooding, extensive street flooding and isolated significant flooding across Smyrna-Vinings and Cobb County areas, according to the National Weather Service.

Most of Georgia, including Mableton and Austell, is in for a deluge as two rounds of heavy rain likely start today and continue through Tuesday, so get your rain boots and umbrellas ready. Two to 4 inches and 4 to 8 inches of rain have already fallen on north and central Georgia, respectively, since the beginning of February, prompting concerns of flash flooding, extensive street flooding and isolated significant flooding, according to the National Weather Service's Hydrologic Outlook. Storms systems moving in and expected to bring moisture into the Gulf are to blame.
