It is next Tuesday.
Commissioner Lisa Cupid, whose district includes South Cobb, wants to hear from you. Cupid will host a town hall at 7 p.m. May 7 at the Cobb County Safety Village, 1220 Al Bishop Dr. For more information, call 770-528-3312 or visit cobbcounty.org/cupid. If you can't make Cupid's town-hall, there are two more opportunities to meet with Cobb commissioners.
Residents will have six opportunities to get updates from elected officials.
The first in a series of town hall meetings intended for Cobb residents to hear directly from their district representatives will begin Monday. Cobb County Commission Chairman Tim Lee will host the first one, which begins at 7 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Smyrna Community Center, 200 Village Green Circle. Residents will have five more opportunities to get updates from their elected officials. Here's the schedule for the remaining town halls:
Rep. Alisha Morgan is hosting a town hall meeting with Georgia Charter Schools Association President Tony Roberts about charter schools and H.R. 1162.
State Rep. Alisha Thomas Morgan (D-Austell) will hold a town hall meeting Wednesday, April 18, at 7 p.m. at the South Cobb Recreation Center. During this meeting, Morgan will provide an overview of the bills passed during the General Assembly’s recent legislative session and lead a discussion on charter schools. Georgia Charter Schools Association President Tony Roberts will help lead the charter school discussion, explaining what charter schools are and how they can serve as a public school option for parents. The charter school discussion will also include information about House Resolution 1162, a constitutional amendment that Morgan co-sponsored that would allow the state to authorize charter schools.
