"A fast-moving but potent upper low sweeping across the Tennessee Valley and southern Appalachians [on] Saturday will bring a chance for at least light wintry precipitation to north Georgia," according to NWS' Hazardous Weather Outlook. GDOT is urging motorists to monitor weather conditions in advance with the possibility of light snow and icy roadways expected Thursday and Friday in areas of North Georgia.

Remember These Snow Survival Tips from a Yankee

Declaring a state of emergency to any northerner who hears 2 to 4 inches of snow is expected is laughable. However, it is understood that the South is not as prepared for extreme weather such as snow. Here are the top six tips of surviving snowy weather that you can remember. There is always worry about ice but usually, it's handled rather quickly. I'm sure your friend would agree that compared to …   more ›
