Nine people participated in Six Flags Over Georgia's first ever CoasterThon on Friday. Only five people were able to continue riding for the full 10 hours for a total of 121 laps. In total, the riders raised $5,200 for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Riders were given only a short bathroom break every hour, and if they didn't make it back in time, they were disqualified. The five who lasted the entire full hours earned season passes, and the rider who raised the most funds won a free trip to Six Flags in Illinois.

One of the hippest new dance shows is now showing at Six Flags Over Georgia. Park-goers sit in the dark for 20 minutes and watch iLuminate, the dance show consisting of 12 dancers wearing suits of wireless colored lights. The lights and visual effects are controlled to match the beats of songs played by a DJ and makes for a truly unique good time! Six Flags is open daily beginning Saturday and debuts new show featuring "America's Got Talent" showstoppers.
School is out, and that means Six Flags Over Georgia is now open daily until school begins again. As a way to jumpstart its summer season, SFOG is debuting its newest show, iLuminate this Memorial Day weekend. iLuminate is dance-in-the-dark show that placed third on last summer’s hit television competition series “America’s Got Talent.” The show will run from May 26 until Aug. 12. The show will combine state-of-the-art light up costumes with 12 electrifying entertainers who perform in the dark to create the ultimate performing arts experience. To apply, send an e-mail to sfogpr@sixflags.com with a headshot and the following information in the e-mail: Although extras won’t receive monetary compensation, they will receive a complimentary park admission ticket, which is valid until Sept. 30. Six Flags Over Georgia and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta are partnering up to challenge adrenaline-junkies everywhere to raise money during the first ever Children’s Coasterthon. This coaster marathon will take place on the Great American Scream Machine, the theme park’s classic wooden roller coaster, on Friday, June 8. The top 22 fundraisers will earn a seat to see who can endure 10 hours of continuous rides. Those that make it through the entire event will receive a free Season Pass to Six Flags Over Georgia.
