Mableton will be rocking and twanging next week with Mableton Rocks and Riverview Landing's Urban Hoedown taking place. The 2nd Annual Mableton Rocks kicks off on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 3 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m. The event features eight local bands, including crowd please JB Walker and the Cheap Wiskey Band. The ARC is seeking nominations for trend-setting developments in the Metro Atlanta area.
Neither Austell nor Mableton have seen much development as of late, but the development that has come in has been quite innovative, like Riverview Landing. Each year the Atlanta Regional Commission, in partnership with the Livable Communities Coalition (LCC), honors trend-setting developments in the Atlanta region with the Developments of Excellence (DOE) Awards. Past winners have been honored for exemplifying urban revitalization, transit accessibility, affordable housing, conservation and sustainability. Nominations are now being accepted for this prestigious award and are encouraged from developers, builders, private, public and nonprofit entities for their recently completed or nearly complete projects. One of the biggest festivals to hit South Cobb will take place on Saturday fr at Riverview Landing, the new development being built on Riverview Road in Mableton. Dog Days at The Market kicks off the grand opening of “The Market” at Georgia’s largest off-leash dog pasture on Saturday. The day’s proceeds will benefit Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption. Dogs are welcome to roam in Georgia’s largest dog pasture, a five-acre, fenced-in area which runs along the Chattahoochee River. Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption will have dogs on-site and adoptions can be made at APRA’s new facility in Smyrna. The event is free, but a donation to Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption is appreciated. The Dog Days of Summer are upon us, and that's a good thing for everyone in the family. It means that South Cobbers will have a new local market and our furry four-legged friends will have a new place to hang out in South Cobb starting next week. Riverview Landing, an 82-acre complex on River View Road in Mableton, hosts a spring festival called Dog Days at the Market on May 12 to kickoff the grand opening of The Market. Plants, seedlings and local, organic produce is available for purchase at the Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday from May 12 to June 30. Real estate investment firm Jamestown and its subsidiary Green Street Properties will host its first annual fall festival on Nov. 5. Green Street Properties is currently developing Riverview Landing, an 82-acre complex on River View Road in Mableton, which is 6.5 miles from their Midtown Atlanta headquarters at 999 Peachtree Street. The development will include 155 single-family homes, 335 townhomes, 165 condo flats, 850 apartment units, about 200 senior housing units, shops, commercial property and a park.
