Police Arrest Possible Lollipop Bandit Suspect

Authorities made the arrest Monday morning in Roswell less than two days after the robbery occurred in Hiram.

Authorities Monday made an arrest in connection with the Saturday afternoon robbery at the Bank of America branch in Hiram. Devin Johnson of Powder Springs, 28, faces one count of robbery after being apprehended at a friend’s house in Roswell about 10:30 a.m., said Detective Donald Roberts of the Hiram Police Department. WSB-TV reports that Johnson may be the Lollipop Bandit suspect who robbed the Wells Fargo on Floyd Road in Mableton on May 11 and robbed a Marietta Regions Bank on May 18. During each robbery, the suspect sucked a lollipop, which is why he is being called the Lollipop Bandit. Cobb police even offered a $2,000 reward for information leading to the suspect's arrest. Police Offer $2,000 for Info on Lollipop Bandit

Cobb police are seeking additional info about a man who robbed the Wells Fargo bank in Mableton and subsequently robbed a Regions bank in Marietta.

Cobb police are offering a $2,000 to anyone who has information that can help them capture the man now being called the Lollipop Bandit. The man robbed the Wells Fargo bank on Floyd Road in Mableton on May 11, and while he handed the bank teller a note demanding money and indicating that he had a gun, he sucked on a lollipop. A week later on May 18, a man robbed the Regions Bank at 2048 Macland Crossing Circle in Marietta, also sucking a lollipop while demanding money from a teller. After the robbery in Marietta, the suspect fled on foot and is believed to have gotten into an older-model Toyota Corolla that was white or silver, Cobb County police spokesman Officer Michael Bowman said in a news release.
