Martial arts center welcomes new students

Green Room Martial Arts expands with move to a new facility in Mableton.

Green Room Martial Arts, formerly located in downtown Austell, has moved to a new location on Veterans Memorial Highway in Mableton. The new location is more visible, and the facility is larger, brighter, and more conducive to the positive, life-affirming mood that owners, Charles Klughart and Toni McGuire, want to instill in their students. “The move has been wonderful,” says McGuire. “We had a number of new students register shortly after we moved, and more continue to register.” Klughart, or “Sensei” to his students, holds a fifth degree black belt in karate, a fourth degree black belt in Aikido, and a first degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. On June 26, Green Room Martial Arts participated in AOMA's National Karate Tournament. Jr. Instructor Nate got first place in non weapons forms and second place in his weapons form. Sensei Toni got first place in both non weapons and weapons forms. We are looking forward to our next tournament July 23; Goldbar Karate Championship. Many more students will compete. Confidence and respect at the core of new downtown Austell martial arts studio

Green Room Martial Arts studio will begin offering affordable classes on January 3.

When people first meet Chuck Klughart, they are often impressed both by his physical stature and his warm personality. A tall, sturdy man, Klughart exudes the enthusiasm and compassion that have served him well in his work as a Lutheran minister. What many do not know is that he is also a disciplined and highly-trained martial artist.  "I've been studying martial arts since 1972," he says. "I was kind of a shy kid, and martial arts helped me with confidence." Today, Klughart holds a fifth-degree black belt in Karate, a fourth-degree black belt in Aikido, and a first-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
