South Cobb suffers a painful defeat to Hillgrove 40-7
They'd both waited a year for this matchup. Seemingly, only one team showed up ready to play though. South Cobb suffered its first, and worst, loss of the season to Hillgrove Friday night. Falling behind 7-0 after the opening drive, the Eagles never regained their composure. The Hawks covered half the field in two pass plays in the opening drive and capped off the drive with a score from Kenyan Drake. He finished the night with 196 yards on 18 carries and 3 touchdowns. There, apparently, was more where that came from. The Eagles looked lethargic in their play the entire night –with the exception of running back Chris Beck's performance (156 yards on 31 carries with 0 TDs). Beck currently leads the county in rushing with 507 yards in his…

South Cobb Eagles move to 3-0 after defeating the Northview Titans on Friday night
The South Cobb Eagles football team moved to 3-0 on the season after defeating the Northview Titans on a late game touchdown by standout running back Chris Beck. The game ultimately turned into a battle of Running Backs. Beck, a senior, had three touchdowns on the night – to include the game winner. “I was just trying to help my team,” said Beck. “We’ve got Hillgrove next week and I want to perform well there too”. The game started with a relatively quick drive by Titans quarterback Evan Jacks. Eagles quarterback Stephon Masha answered with a drive of his own. Northview took the lead on a rushing touchdown by Titans running back Terrence Upshaw – the first of three on the night for him. Eagles return man, Jamal Thomas, answered with a 90-…
