Job Fairs Today, Thursday to Fill 1,000-Plus Jobs

A company is recruiting in Marietta Tuesday to fill positions in several North Atlanta locations, while The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta aims to fill 1,000 positions at a job fair in Woodstock Thursday.

The Georgia Department of Labor is assisting two employers in filling a number of jobs in Cobb and Cherokee counties this week. Today, the Sullivan Group will hold pre-screenings and job interviews from 10 a.m. to noon at the Cobb-Cherokee Career Center, located at 465 Big Shanty Road in Marietta. The company will be recruiting for multiple positions at several North Atlanta locations. The positions include accounts payable personnel, sales representatives, administrative assistants, print machine operators, industrial operations managers, quality control representatives, and warehouse workers for general assembly, painting, pressing and welding, and shipping and receiving. 'Hire A Hero' Career Expo in Marietta Helps Vets Find Jobs Next Week

The expo will feature a number of employers, educational institutions, and resource agencies that provide assistance to job seekers. The expo will be held Jan. 30 in Marietta.

The Georgia Department of Labor’s (GDOL) will assist Solid Hires and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) with a career expo for veterans and other job seekers Wednesday, Jan. 30. A team of military resume writers from Washington, D.C. will be on hand to help the veterans prepare their resumes. And, a seminar will be conducted on personal branding and social media to help the veterans learn how to get in touch with potential employers. The Tuskegee Airmen, an historical military group, will also participate. A recruitment of customer service representatives will be held Monday, Nov. 26, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the GDOL’s Cobb-Cherokee Career Center, located at 465 Big Shanty Rd. in Marietta. While some applicants must be able to speak both English and Spanish, others may speak English only. All applicants must have a high school diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED) and type at least 35 words a minute. Chatt Tech to Recruit for Technology Training Programs

Classes include heating and air conditioning, building and facilities maintenance, industrial electrical technology, electrical and computer engineering, welding and joining technology, and horticulture.

The Georgia Department of Labor’s (GDOL) Cobb-Cherokee Career Center will help Chattahoochee Technical College recruit unemployed workers and other students to enroll in short-term training classes for a variety of “in-demand” jobs in the technology field. The training program is entitled Jump Start Your Career in the Technology Industry.  The recruitment for the program will be held Thursday, Nov. 15, from 10 a.m. to noon at the career center, located at 465 Big Shanty Rd. in Marietta.
