Undocumented Workers and Occupiers Protest on May Day

Members of two movements are protesting and rallying on May 1, an international day of workers' rights.

Mayday! Mayday! The Movements are...moving. South Cobb has an active undocumented community of people who protest, speak out, boycott and organize to fight legislation they believe to be unjust, like last year's House Bill 87 and this year's Senate Bill 458. The Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights is calling for a joint labor-immigrant rally on May 1 in the tradition of the long-standing celebration of May Day as international workers day. Participants will assemble at 11 a.m. at the state Capitol. GLAHR's theme for the event is "Workers' Rights are Immigrant Rights are Human Rights." They are not "so-called illegals". They are ILLEGALS. They came here without papers (let me put it frankly) which brakes immigration laws. Imagine, the first thing they did coming to this country is BRAKE THE LAW. i cannot make it more simple than that. Why can't they come here through proper channels and wait?
