Rep. Wilkerson Hosts Candidate Meet and Greet Wednesday

Come meet the candidates for District 4 County Commissioner and Post 3 School Board Member at tonight's meet-and-greet event.

Rep. David Wilkerson (D-Austell) is hosting a candidate meet-and-greet for the South and West Cobb communities on Wednesday at the Ron Anderson Center in Powder Springs at 6:30 p.m. The evening will begin with a three-minute opening by each candidate, followed by a casual meet and greet. Candidates Face Off in First Forum Tuesday Night

Candidates for countywide races, along with the South Cobb District 4 Commissioner seat, will face off for the first time Tuesday night in Marietta.

Candidates will face off Tuesday night during one of the first candidate forums held in Cobb since the election qualifying period ended on Friday. The Cobb chapter of the NAACP will host its candidate forum at the Cobb Board of Commissioners boardroom at 100 Cherokee St. in Marietta from 7-9 p.m. The first hour of the forum is reserved for countywide elections of Cobb Superior Court judge, Cobb State Court and Cobb district attorney. Those vying for the County Commissioner seat and District 4 County Commissioner seat, which serves South Cobb, will be featured during the second hour. Rhett Says South Cobb Needs Unity

Dr. Michael Rhett is running for South Cobb's District 4 Commissioner seat.

Ask yourself; are you better off than you were two years ago or four years ago? Over the past 30 years I Dr. Michael Rhett have dedicated my life to serving community and country as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, as an educator, and community empowering advocate.  Many in the military have spent the past decade dedicating their lives to building a safe and better world for us at home and others around the world. Now it is time for them to come home and do the same in our home communities. Cobb Residents Dialogue for Educational Solutions at Community Forum

The Cobb United for Change Coalition plans to meet monthly to develop an action plan to change the community for the better.

About 15 members of various community organizations gathered on Thursday night at Trinity Baptist Church in Mableton to discuss issues they plan to address and help solve throughout the county. The group, Cobb United for Change Coalition, plans to meet on a monthly or bimonthly basis and establish an action plan to bring about changes they wish to see. A panelist of five community members answered questions about immigration, racial profiling, education, jobs and prison industrial complex during the two-hour session. Rev.
