Delta Moon Brings Southern Melodic Charm to the Barnes Amphitheatre Stage

Local boys do good with their band Delta Moon, gracing the stage at the Barnes Mable House Amphitheater this Saturday.

Fresh off their European tour, Delta Moon, a band that represents the heartbeat of the “American South,”  is rocking the stage this Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Barnes Mable House Amphitheatre in Mableton. Tom Gray, a co-founder of the band, says they play South Cobb and other Marietta area venues regularly. The band has a grassroots following that originated right here in our backyard. “Delta Moon is the South. The Hellbound Train album drew a lot from living in the South,” Gray says of being a Southern boy. Relocating to Atlanta with his family in eighth grade, Gray became drawn to music as an escape since he didn't have many friends. Preparation is the best protection against flu this season

It's just a couple of days before Christmas and a little more than a week from the 2011 New Year's celebration. Because of the recent flu outbreak, many people from Austell and Mableton are finding alternatives to their big holiday plans. "I had to order most of my gifts online this year," says 57-year-old grandmother of two, Cheryl Abbott. She's a Mableton resident who recently relocated from Florida to help her financially strapped daughter. "I got the flu over two weeks ago and still haven't been able to shake it. I never had the shots before but I never got sick in Florida," Abbott said.
