Community Spotlight: Mardi Gras 5K Run [VIDEO]

Want to celebrate Mardi Gras in the Northwest Atlanta area? Enjoy festive food, music and family fun at Saturday's Marietta Mardi Gras 5K Run.

This week's Cobb, Douglas and Paulding Weekend & Community Spotlight features the 4th Annual Marietta Mardi Gras 5K Run on the Marietta Square. The event benefits the Junior League of Cobb-Marietta and it's community partners. The 5K run will begin Saturday at 8 a.m., with the 1K beginning at 8:45 a.m. and the Tot-Trot at 9 a.m. For the third year, the Junior League is teaming up with Shoes for the Cure for a shoe drive. All shoe donations are welcome - not just running shoes. There will be bins for drop-off available. Cost is $30 for adults and $15 for Tot-Trot. Community Spotlight: Relay for Life Kickoff Party [VIDEO]

The first ever Relay for Life in the Smyrna-Vinings area is kicking off this weekend. Find out how you can participate and help fight cancer.

This week's Cobb, Douglas and Paulding Weekend & Community Spotlight features the Relay for Life Vinings-Smyrna Kickoff Party. The kickoff event will be held at 1:30 p.m. this Saturday at Hyatt Place Atlanta/Cobb Galleria. Learn how you and your family and friends can participate in the first ever Relay for Life in the Smyrna-Vinings community, and help support a good cause.
