Community Volunteer Monica DeLancy's slogan in her run for Cobb County Commission is "We thrive on the Drive." That means emphasizing the positive things happening in her home neighborhood at Six Flags Drive, then building on them. "When I moved here and told someone I was moving to Six Flags Drive, all they could say was negative things," said DeLancy, neighborhood resident since 2007. "But once I got here I realized there were task forces, politicians doing things, after school programs, positive things on Six Flags Drive." Cupid, said her background as a results-oriented engineer and a community facilitator for the Austell Community Partnership makes her the best fit for the job. Cupid earned multiple awards for leadership and service commitment while earning her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2000. …
