South Cobb Business Association Golfs 'Fore' Hope

The South Cobb Business Association's first golf tournament fundraiser will benefit the Bullock House of Hope.

Take a swing, and change a life.

That's what the South Cobb Business Association hopes will happen at it first annual Golf Fore Hope fundraiser on April 30 at the Creekside Golf & Country Club in Hiram.

The tournament will benefit the Bullock Hope House, a private home for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment in Metro Atlanta.

"We just decided we'd join forces, and the rest is history," said South Cobb Business Association President Wayne Dodd.

Dodd said he wanted to start an annual golf fundraiser, like the one the now-defunct Powder Springs Business Association hosted for the last five years.

Now that PSBA has been absorbed by the SCBA, former golf tournament committee members were able to lend their expertise to plan the upcoming event.

Several individual golfers and teams of four have signed up for the event, but Dodd said there is still room for more. Golfers can participate in a putting contest and win $10,000.

So far, the participation and support is "far exceeding our hopes," Dodd said.

Tournament Schedule:

  • 7-8:15 a.m. Registration, Putting Contest Qualification, Driving Range and Putting
  • 8:30 a.m. $10,000 Putting Contest
  • 8:45 a.m. Shotgun start
  • 2 p.m. 19th Hole Party and Contest Awards

Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place teams.
