South Cobb residents can purchase cookies at

Georgia's Girl Scouts celebrate their 100th anniversary this year. The Girl Scouts were founded in Savannah in 1912. The organization's mission is "building young girls and women of courage, confidence and character."

More than 41,000 girls in 34 greater Atlanta counties are preparing for the annual tradition of cookie booth sales at hundreds of locations, including shopping centers and offices.

The Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta will unveil a Cookie Coach to spread the word about the sales. The Girl Scouts have created a site to let cookie buyers find the nearest booth: cookielocator.littlebrownie.com.

This week, South Cobb residents can purchase cookies in Mableton at Waffle House on Mableton Parkway, Taco Bell on Veterans Memorial Highway, and the Walgreens and Kroger stores on Floyd Road. Cookies can also be purchased in Austell this upcoming weekend at CVS, Walmart and Lowe's on East-West Connector and at Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral on Sunday.
