Upcoming class on establishing a food garden and safe food preservation.

Join UGA/COBB COUNTY COOPERATIVE EXTENSION for this informative workshop.  Learn about planting a vegetacle garden and safely preserving your produce.  Horticulture topics will include:  site selection, garden planning, soil testing, fertilization, soil preparation, mulching, maintenance, vegetable culture, common diseases and insects.  Food preservation topics will focus on pressure canning, water bath canning and freezing of your produce.  The classes are intended to help the novice, as well as, seasoned gardeners and to review up-to-date food preservation procedures.  We are looking forward to having a good time and sharing good advice.  Please join us in celebrating the bounty that spring and summer have to offer here in Georgia.  The class will be held in April and listed on the Events page at the appropriate time.  There will be a charge of $10.00 at the door.  *Cash or Check Only*  If you have questions please call Emily Harper at 770-528-4070.
