UGA/COBB COUNTY COOPERATIVE EXTENSION will host a class on Gardening and Food Preservation on May 8 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This class is intended to provide tips on how to start a home garden from site selection, garden planning, soil testing to vegetable culture including common diseases and pests of the home garden. The second hour of the class will demonstrate food safety and preservation. We will have an overview of canning and canning equipment and other ways to preserve your summer bounty. To register, call 770-528-4070. There will be refreshments served. The cost for the class is $10 at the door. We look forward to seeing you there.

Please encourage residents to attend CCt flex bus meeting at the South Cobb Library on Tuesday June…Read More 18t 6pm-8pm. The first meeting only had 11 residents there and none were bus riders. I have encouraged residents that have teens to attend meeting because this help our teens get to jobs or social activities and not just hang out in the neighborhood. We must also plan for the future and underswtrand that just because you are driving today, it may not be the case all the time. Your situation can change with a blink of an eye.
