See 'The Lorax' Thursday & Marty Stuart on Saturday at Barnes Amphitheatre

Come out on Thursday night for free movies and then enjoy a balmy concert of Marty Stuart on Saturday!

Bring out the entire family Thursday evening to the Mable House Amphitheatre for one last hurrah before school starts. As the last of the Mooovies at Mable House series, the Cobb Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs is showing Dr. Seuss' The Lorax, at 7:30 p.m.

Also, on Saturday, mosey on down to the for a concert from award-winning Marty Stuart. The concert is part of the Amazon Tickets and Events 2012 Summer Country concert series hosted by two Cobb natives in hopes of breathing new life into the venue.

Along with his musical career, Stuart is also a stylist, designer, photographer, song writer and music memorabilia preservationist. Stuart started out singing gospel as a child, sung bluegrass with Lester Flatt in the 1970s, spent six years performing with Johnny Cash in the 1980s and had smash "hillbilly rock" hits in the 1990s.

The show starts at 8 p.m. and gates open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and range from $15 to $48. Tables that seat six directly in front of the stage are also available for $402. Tickets are available on ticketmaster.com or at the Mable House's box office during select hours. Little Texas and Restless Heart will perform 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 24, and tickets are also available for that show. Mable House is located at 5239 Floyd Road in Mableton.
