The Eagles opened the season last week with Quarterback Stephon Masha was spectacular with 291 yards passing and three touchdowns. All three of his touchdown passes were over 50 yards, which is an indicator of how strong his arm is.

Beck and Masha will have to play well again in order to beat Wheeler. They should be successful against a Wildcat defense that gave up 31 points to Pope last week.

Prediction: South Cobb 38 Wheeler 7

Pebblebrook (0-1) vs. East Coweta (1-0)

The Falcons hung tough early in the opening game against perennial power Lowndes last week. They stopped the Vikings twice before finally giving up a touchdown late in the first quarter.

Quarterback C.J. Goodman ran for a 68-yard touchdown and added a touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter. However, the Falcons were defeated for the second year in a row by Lowndes 45-14.

The Falcons have to put that loss behind them before they face a tough East Coweta team. The Indians beat Chapel Hill 31-6 last Friday. East Coweta defeated Pebblebrook 13-5 last year.

It will be the home opener for Pebblebrook, which should give them an added boost. The Falcons should get their first win of the season this week.

Prediction: Pebblebrook 17 East Coweta 13

Whitefield Academy (1-0) vs. Pace Academy (0-1)

The Wolfpack looked like a team to be reckoned with in last week's 38-13 win over Walker. Running back Richard Sherrell led the way with 150 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Whitefield was tied with Walker 7-7 at the half, but blew the game open with three touchdowns in the third quarter. Quarterback Max Kemether threw two touchdowns and was steady by failing to throw an interception.

Max Rieves came up with two interceptions on defense to stall two Walker drives.

A similar scenario should happen when Whitefield plays its first home against Pace Academy.

Prediction: Whitefield Academy 42 Pace Academy 14
