Pebblebrook, South Cobb Coaches Will Go Barefoot

Fans asked to donate a dollar and wear mismatched shoes to bring attention to the Samaritan's Feet mission.

Pebblebrook and South Cobb coaches are pledging to go barefoot during Friday's basketball games.

The Pebblebrook Falcons and the South Cobb Eagles are adding an element of service to their games on Jan. 17 when half-time activities include a 3-point shoot-out for shoes in support of Samaritan’s Feet and its mission to provide 10 million pairs of shoes to a million people in 10 years.

Girls’ game will tipoff is at 6 p.m. followed by the boys’ game 7:30.

During a Barefoot Game, Samaritan’s Feet is highlighted in several ways. Pebblebrook and South Cobb coaches have pledged to go through the game shoeless to direct attention toward the 300 million people that go without shoes every day.

Fans are asked to make a donation of a $1 to help purchase shoes for this cause. Additionally, fans are also encouraged to wear mismatched shoes to bring attention to the cause.

Last year, Pebblebrook coaching assisted Samaritans Feet efforts during the NCAA Final Four in Atlanta by washing feet and giving out shoes.
