Local Women's Football Team Suffers Defeat in South Cobb
The Atlanta Heartbreakers of the Women's Football Alliance squad suffers lopsided defeat at Pebblebrook High School
The Atlanta Heartbreakers, a women's football team, dropped their second game of the season in a disheartening manner, losing 72-0 to the visiting Miami Fury on Saturday at Pebblebrook High School.
Quarterback Lanisha Hargraves did her best to lead an ineffective Heartbreakers offense. The Heartbreakers showed some signs of life on offense in the second quarter, but that was short-lived when running-back Shantrell Williams went down late in the first half with a leg injury.
Miami quarterback Keondra Greer threw two touchdown passes to wideout Sabrina Baptiste. Running back Ronkia Toombs also scored three touchdowns to help the Fury rout the Heartbreakers decisively.
