Whitefield to Hold Graduation

Whitefield Academy will hold a series of graduation exercises on May 17 and 18 to honor its 16th class of students.

A Baccalaureate will be held on Friday, May 17, from 7 p.m. on the Whitefield campus, featuring speaker Rev. Canon Steven J. Saul who currently services as the Cannon of the Diocese of the Westerm Gulf Coast of the Anglican Church.

The graduation ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. at Mount Paran Church of God. Rev. R.V. Brown, president of Outreach to America’s Youth, will give the keynote address.

“I am humbled and honored to stand amongst this class of 2013, shake their hands, and welcome them as we shift our relationship from that of headmaster/student to mentor/friend,” said interim headmaster Dr. Kevin Bracher.

Joining Brown and Bracher at the podium will be valedictorian and Georgia Tech incoming freshman Holt Merkle, and salutatorian and future University of Georgia scholar Morgan Landers.

“The days ahead are bittersweet,” said Bracher. “These students are the heartbeat of Whitefield, and we cherish our time with each and every one of them. We look to the future, though, with excitement as we welcome over 75 new families who join us in the fall, and celebrate the traditions that define our covenant community.”
