See what's happening at your child's school this week.

Elementary and Intermediate School Happenings

  • - The Georgia Department of Education encourages parents, students and teachers to use the Lexile Find a Book website to enhance students’ reading skills during the school year.
  • - Character Pep Rally, Friday at 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. On Aug. 10, ESOL teacher, Ms. Teresa Ferguson, published her first book, “G.A.M.E.S. (Games and Activities for Motivating and Educating Students),” now available at Amazon.com.
  • - Recognized as one of Cobb’s Title I Distinguished Schools for 2011.
  • - Also recognized as a Cobb Title I Distinguished School.
  • - Boy Scout recruitment, Thursday 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
  • - Chick-Fil-A biscuits will be on sale every Friday morning for $2.50. Fridays are “Spirit Days,” children do not have to wear uniforms on Fridays.
  • - PTA Board Meeting on Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. in the Principal’s office. Back to School Bash on Friday 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in the gym.
  • - Parents please remember to check your child’s lunch account.
  • - Parents interested in joining the PTA follow this link. Membership dues are $5.
  • - Title I Distinguished School for eight years. Parents please update your phone numbers where you can reached. The school is having difficulty reaching some parents due to outdated information. An “After School” program is available for students until 6 p.m. each day. Follow this link for further information.
  • - Box Tops for Education Program - the school will earn money for each box top you turn in. Check this link for qualifying items.

Middle School Happenings

  • - Receive upcoming pertinent school information by registering your email address and child’s name by following this link.

  • l - During new campus construction please use the side entrance to the school from Austell Powder Springs Rd at North Ave.
  • - Sparkles “Skate Night and Back To School Jam” on Sunday at 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Cost is $4.50.
  • - Title I Distinguished School. Enrichment Night on Thursday at  6 p.m. PTSA committee meeting on Thursday at 7 p.m.

High School Happenings
