South Cobb Rotary Recognizes STAR Students

At its regular Thursday meeting, the South Cobb Rotary will recognize exemplary students.

The South Cobb Rotary Club commends STAR students from , and McEachern high schools every year for more than a decade. On April 12, the organization holds its annual STAR student luncheon at noon at the in Austell.

To be a STAR student, students must be nominated by their school counselors and must have the highest scores in one sitting on the SAT and either be in the top 10 percent or one of the top 10 students in his or her class.

A committee of rotary club members selected two students as recipients of the Clark-Collins Scholarship of $1,000: Ebou Jatta of McEachern and Aliyah Miller of South Cobb High.
