Whitefield boys' soccer and baseball teams look to make a long run in the state playoffs, South Cobb baseball goes 3-0

Whitefield Academy's boys' soccer team enters the state playoffs this week with a first-round game against Hebron Christian Academy on Wednesday, May 4. The Wolfpack finished the regular season on a three-game winning streak with a record of 12-5.
The baseball team went 0-2 last week, losing 12-7 versus Landmark Christian Academy, and 7-5 against Eagles Landing Christian Academy. The Wolfpack will play in a Georgia High School Association playoff doubleheader on the road against Commerce High School, today at 4 p.m. Whitefield enters the playoffs with a record that currently stands at 11-13 and 7-5 in Region 9-A.

The boys' lacrosse team lost their lone game of the week against Holy Innocents' Episcopal School, 10-6. The boys' team finished the season with an overall record of 4-15 and 1-8 in Region 1-AAAA-A.

baseball team (13-12, 9-5 Region 4-AAAAA) played a great week of baseball, going 3-0. They started the week off with a big win against defending state champion Harrison, 6-2, behind a complete game performance from junior pitcher Derek Coger. The Eagles' finished off the week with wins against Campbell, 12-5, and McEachern, 4-3.

baseball team (2-20, 1-13 Region 4-AAAAA) ends the season on a three-game losing streak. The Falcons were blasted early in the week by Hilgrove 19-1, and ended the week with a pair of tough losses to Harrison 13-0 and Kennesaw Mountain 15-0.
