The team was led by sophomore Tommy Swearingen, who had a season scoring average of 76. Swearingen is active in the Georgia Junior PGA division and won three events last summer. Freshman Nathan Hurley was another solid contributor for the Eagles in 2011. Just like Swearingen, he too will be active in several Georgia Junior PGA events this summer.

"As a team we set a season goal of playing our best in the region tournament and we managed to fulfill that goal," said coach Steven Overstreet. "For next year, we look to improve our performance both individually and as a team."

The boys' soccer team finished the season with a 3-4 mark in Region 4-AAAAA and an overall record of 4-6. The girls ended the season 3-7 overall, and 1-6 in region play.

"My girls had a solid year," said coach Jillian Horn. "They gave their all and had a blast along the way."

The boy's tennis team had a rebuilding year, posting and overall record of 0-6 while only playing a region schedule. The Eagles team started the season at a disadvantage with ongoing construction surrounding their tennis courts.

"We had a couple of good showings from our top two singles players, Willie Cobb and Josh Jackson," said boys’ head coach Douglas Snyder. "All of our players have great character, and our fine citizens on and off the court."

The girls' tennis team had a tough season as well finishing with a record of 0-8. Both programs look to get back on track next year.

Whitefield Academy

Whitefield Academy's boys' soccer team finished their best season ever with a record of 12-6. They made it to the second round of the playoffs before losing a hard-fought contest against Hebron Christian Academy, 1-0.

“The team received outstanding leadership from its seniors," said head coach Jan Lecraw. "These guys gave Whitefield their best season ever and I'm very proud of them."

The girls’ soccer team finished the season with a mark of 6-10.

The boys and girls tennis teams had very successful seasons. The boys went 16-1 and 6-0 in the region in 2011. The Wolfpack fell short of their title aspirations, losing to Wesleyan in the quarterfinals of the state tournament.

The girls' team went 7-4 on the season, and also finished undefeated in region play at 6-0. Unfortunately, they too would get knocked out of the state tournament by Wesleyan; however, they fell  in the first round.

The baseball team went 7-5 in region play and posted an overall record of 12-15. This season Whitefield Academy sailed through unchartered territory and clinched a playoff berth for the first time in school history. However, the team’s run would be short-lived after falling to Commerce in the Class A state preliminaries.

"We had a great season," said baseball coach Matt Williams. "The entire season was a team effort and the coaching staff and I couldn't be more proud of our players."

Whitefield's golf program reached new heights in 2011. The boys' team finished with an overall record of 6-4, and a region record of 4-0. They had a region low medalist in Anders Olsson (74), and made it to their first ever state playoffs, placing 9th in the tournament.

The girls’ team went 3-0 in the region, and had an overall record of 8-1. Their low medalist for the region was Colleen Panosian (88), who received this achievement for the second time in her career.

The girls' golf team won the Region 9-A Championship, and also made their first ever trip to state, placing 8th in the tournament. Panosian placed 4th in the Individual tournament (83). "With no seniors on both the boys and girls team, we plan on making bigger strides next year, as well as contending for the state championships," said head coach Matt Petersen.

The boys' lacrosse team, in their first year of existence, put together an overall record of 4-14 while going 1-8 in the region. With a squad comprised of freshmen sophomores,  the Wolfpack hope to build on their experience for a solid 2012.

"We had a good first season," said head coach John East. "With a strong rising ninth-grade team we will be much stronger next year and even more the year after."

Pebblebrook

soccer team finished the season with an overall record of 5-6-1 and went 4-3 in Region 4-AAAAA. They ended the season with a big win against then undefeated Kell team.

"We are going to be very young next year," said head coach Randall Smith. "We will need to focus in the off-season on just getting strong enough to play in this strong region 4-AAAAA."

The baseball team  posted an overall mark of 2-20 and finished 1-13 in Region 4-AAAAA. The Falcons were very young this year and look to put up a better showing next season after a year of growth and development.

The boys' tennis team ended the season with a record of 3-7 and finished 1-6 in region play. The girls' tennis team went 2-6 in region action and finished with a 4-7 record overall. Both teams lost in the first round of their region tournament.
