New Floyd Entrance Means Safer, Smoother Traffic Flow

The new entrance also makes the campus safer for students, parents and faculty alike.

Students, parents and faculty at Floyd Middle School are glad their new, safer entrance has been completed. On Oct. 7, they celebrated the completion of the school's new driveway entrance, completed by the Cobb Department of Transportation.

The new driveway entrance includes a traffic light, visible crosswalks and signs to increase pedestrian safety.  The new entrance is also contributing to smoother traffic flow in the area.  Attendees included Cobb Commissioner Woody Thompson, Cobb & Douglas Public Health Department District Health Promotion Director Cathy Wendholt-McDade  and Educator Amy Hoffman, Georgia Safe Routes to School Resource Manager Sarah Knight and School Outreach Coordinator Alicia Hatcher, Lifelong Mableton Manager Cheryl Mayerick, Area 1 Assistant Superintendent Ed Thayer, Health and Physical Education Supervisor Mark Anderson, Campus Officer Nina Reber, and Floyd Principal Teresa Hargrett.
