University of West Georgia Wind Symphony & Symphonic Band Concert

Helen Hou Sandi and Adrian Sandi are the featured guest artists and soloists. They will perform with UWG’s Wind Symphony & Symphonic Band. The couple studied at the Eastman School of Music, at the University of Rochester, N.Y.  

Helen Hou Sandi will perform a solo: Edvard Grieg’s “Piano Concerto in A Minor, movement 1.” Adrian Sandi’s solo is Scott McAllister’s “Black Dog: Rhapsody for Clarinet.”

The UWG bands will perform several newer works as well some of the greatest works written for the genre. These include: Samuel Barber’s: “Commando March”; Frank Ticheli “Cajun Folk Songs II”; Steven Bryant’s “Dusk”; and Vittorio Giannini, “Symphony No. 3 in B-flat.”
