South Cobb Meeting News You Can Use

There are plenty of community meetings this week affecting the South Cobb area.

On Tuesday, county commissioners will have two hearings–at 8 a.m. and at 6 p.m.–with the community regarding the proposed millage rate increase from 9.6 mills to 11.21. The meetings will be held in the Board of Commissioners room at 100 Cherokee St. in Marietta.

Citizens from the South Cobb area are being asked to wear blue by a grassroots coalition of community leaders who support the millage rate increase if it will ensure no more cuts to other departments. This group is also encouraging residents to get there early to sign up for the public comment portion of the meeting.

On Wednesday, State Rep. Alisha Morgan, who represents South Cobb, and South Cobb Commissioner Woody Thompson will hold a town hall meeting at on Lions Drive in Mableton at 7:30 p.m. to discuss issues such as the possible millage rate increase.
