Road Construction Updates for South Cobb

Find out what road construction projects are happening and when so that you can adjust your commute.

The following road construction projects will affect traffic in the coming week, Monday, Sept. 17 through Friday, Sept. 21, according to the office of South Cobb Commissioner Woody Thompson:

Clay Road to Hicks Road –
Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one lane remaining open at all times. The contractor will be clearing and installing erosion control. Asphalt paving/patching is scheduled to begin later in the week. Utility companies will be relocating services which should not affect your service.

Frontier Trail to Floyd Oaks Drive –
Expect intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one lane remaining open. The contractor will be clearing and installing erosion control along the side of the road.

Blair Bridge Road and South Gordon Road –
Expect intermittent lane closures - as necessary - from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one lane remaining open. The contractor will finish grading and grassing on the shoulders and placing final striping and signs.

Crestview Drive to Interstate 20
No lane closures anticipated. The contractor will be completing finishing touches on the project.

Road Resurfacing
Asphalt paving operations, which will include lane closures with one lane remaining open at all times, are **scheduled next week on the following roads:

· Brookwood Drive from East-West Connector to dead end

· Church Street from Clay Road to Veterans Memorial Parkway
