Connie Taylor says she has more than 18 years of experience in the real estate business, which makes her qualified to pursue economic development as a county commissioner for South Cobb.Β

Taylor, a member of the Cobb County Board of Tax Assessors, has owned her Powder Springs home since 1999 and has two compaines registered there: Taylor Real Estate Academy and Taylor Realty Service.

Through the first quarter of 2012, she had raised some $3,300, mostly in modest local donations, for her District 4 campaign. However, she's also been issued a fine from the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission for failing to file a personal financial disclosure on time. She filed late, on June 29, hours after Patch asked her about it via e-mail. Due to a computer glitch on the state's part, the document is not yet available.

Taylor did not return repeated requests for comment on her biography, resume or policy positions by deadline. All information here comes from public records and her website.

Taylor meets five other Democrats in the July 31 primary vote. If no candidate wins a majority, the top two will move to an Aug. 21 runoff. There are no Republicans in the race.
