More DeKalb Communities Considering Cityhood

Residents in the Sagamore Hills and North Briarcliff communities outside of Decatur are exploring cityhood as new DeKalb County municipalities place more fianancial pressure on unincorporated residents, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Sunday.

The communities have been inspired by a  recent vote to incorporate Brookhaven's residents.

Police: Man Steals 'Buggy Full' from Walmart

Bartow County authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying a man accused of shoplifting from Walmart on Friday.

Investigators say the man, captured in a surveillance photo, walked out of the Cartersville store's garden center "with a buggy full of stolen merchandise" about 12:10 p.m. He allegedly loaded the goods in a gold Honda Accord and left the parking lot.

Fund Aims To Help Abused Teen, Sisters

Those who wish to help a Dallas teen found last week in Los Angeles after years of alleged abuse from his parents now have a way to do so.

The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office announced on its Facebook page Saturday that a fund had been set up at Westside Bank, which operates an office in Hiram, to help 18-year-old Mitch Comer and his two sisters, Catrina and Lya.
