MIC members will attend the meeting and encourage residents to do the same.

Below is a letter emailed from the Mableton Improvement Coalition on Sept. 10.

Dear Neighbor,

On Tuesday, September 13 at 7pm, Commissioner Woody Thompson will hold a Town Hall Meeting in Mableton at the South Cobb Community Center at 620 Lions Club Drive.  Commissioner Thompson and county staff will focus on the draft South Cobb Implementation Strategy.

The Strategy is a compilation of the many studies and plans that have been approved for The County drafted the Strategy to bring all these lists, maps, and ideas into focus by putting them in just one document and showing how they are related to each other.  The result is easy to read and straightforward.

MIC and many of you actively supported the River Line Master Plan.  In this document, you can see the outcome of that Plan along with the SPLOST transportation projects and the Livable Centers Initiative -- all in one chapter.  Remember the Form-Based Code and the Mableton Design Forum last year?  Like what you saw?  It's in the Strategy along with the SPLOST projects and other county projects.  Similar information is included for the Six Flags area, which adjoins Mableton's southern border.

We need Mabletonians to turn out one more time and support these efforts.  We expect a large crowd -- and we hope you will be part of that crowd -- because we need to show Commissioner Thompson, the county staff, and others that Mableton residents support the improvement and redevelopment of our community.  The county staff will present an overview, so you can easily get up to speed even if you haven't been involved before now.

MIC Board members at the meeting will be wearing green MIC polo shirts, so come over and say hello!  It's always good to meet MIC's members and friends.  We want to hear from you and get to know you better.

I look forward to seeing you at the meeting.  Please contact me at 404-550-0475 or by email with any questions or suggestions.

Regards,

Joel Cope

MIC President
