Medication Disposal Day

Organizations in Cobb have teamed up to educate the public about the issue of pharmaceutical byproducts in water and to help reduce pharmaceuticals in our waterways.  Kaiser Permanente is partnering with Keep Cobb Beautiful, Cobb Water System, Cobb Public Safety and Cobb Senior Services to provide safe disposal of unused, expired prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications.

This is an opportunity for residents to safely dispose of outdated or unused medications without even leaving their cars.  County staff and law enforcement personnel will be at the location to collect medications and properly dispose of them in compliance with federal law.

Accepted items will include: liquid and pill form medications, sharps and needles, diabetes materials, catheters and tubing.  No durable medical equipment will be accepted and nothing will be accepted at an county facility or by an county staff before or after the scheduled drop off day.
