I Pledge to Vote! Voter Registration Drive

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Northwest Georgia Chapter to Sponsor Voter Registration Drive

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Northwest Georgia Chapter (Cheryl C. Cole, Chapter President) is pleased to announce that it will host a voter registration drive on Thursday, September 6th (4pm-9pm). The event will take place at the location of the chapter’s partner organization, South Cobb Recreation Center, located at 875 Six Flags Drive, Austell, GA  30168.

In preparation of the 2012 general election and in an ongoing effort to promote awareness of public policy issues affecting individuals in its service area, the Northwest Georgia Chapter will provide attendees with the opportunity to register to vote. Those who would like to register to vote at this event are advised that they must: be 18 years of age or older on or before November 6, 2012, be a US citizen, and know their social security number to register.  Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about the new voter identification laws that will apply to the election. The event is free and open to the public. No RSVP is required.

Organized as a national non-profit organization in 1981, The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc advocates on behalf of Black women and other women of color through national and local actions and alliances promoting leadership development and gender equity in health, education and economic development. The national organization has over 7, 000 members and 63 chapters. The Northwest Georgia Chapter was chartered on March 27, 2004 and targets its service and advocacy efforts to Cherokee, Cobb, and Douglas counties.
