Austell-based Cobb Taxpayers Association Wants Residents to Oppose New Tax Increase

WIth a proposed property tax increase on the table, several organizations in Cobb are rounding up members to oppose it.

Cobb Commissioner Chairman Tim Lee has proposed a property tax increase, which will be voted on later this month.  The proposal is to increase the millage rate from 9.6 mills to 11.21 mills, which is approximately and additional $100 on a $200,000 home.

Many people are calling for Cobb County residents to oppose this increase, including Brett Bittner of the Austell-based Cobb Taxpayers Association.

He sent out the following "action alert" on Wednesday:

Action Alert: STOP a Property Tax Increase
