Two Die In Mableton Over Holiday Weekend

Two Cobb County men died when their vehicles skidded off wet roads.


Two people died in separate accidents in Mableton during the past two days.

The first occurred just after 10:15 pm Sunday on Pisgah Road in Mableton.

According to , Eric R. Lynch of Mableton was killed when the blue 1993 Honda Civic he was driving skidded off Pisgah Road and collided with a utility pole.Β  Lynch, 18, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the car.

The second fatal crash occurred just before 3 am today on Oglesby Road near Five Oaks Place, in Mableton.

According to police, David W. Jones of Powder Springs died when the black 2001 Ford F-150 he was driving ran off of the road and collided with several trees. Jones, 27, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained fatal injuries in the collision. Alcohol use is being considered as a contributing factor to the crash, police said.
