Two Austell Businesses Robbed

Money was stolen from the Budget Inn and the BB&T Bank.

Two Austell businesses were robbed this weekend, and the Cobb County Police Department needs the public's help locating the suspects.

The first robbery occurred at the Blair Bridge Road Budget Inn. Two men with bandanas and silver semi-automatic handguns entered the business about 8:53 p.m. Friday and demanded money from the cash register, said Sgt. Dana Pierce, a spokesman for the police department.

The suspects ran toward North Blair Bridge Road after receiving the cash and a laptop computer, he said.

One of the suspects wore what appeared to be a gray dress shirt, calf-length, light-colored shorts, and a multicolored Atlanta Braves baseball cap with a large 'A' on the sides. The other suspect wore a black T-shirt with a large white rectangular logo on it, black track-style pants with a white stripe, and a white baseball cap with a red brim.

The second robbery occurred at the Tramore Parkway BB&T Bank.

As an employee got ready to enter the lobby about 8:45 a.m. Saturday, a man ran behind the employee and demanded entry into the bank, Pierce said.

Inside the business, the suspect flashed a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money, Pierce said. He took off in an unknown direction after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was last seen wearing blue jeans, a gray or beige long sleeved button up shirt and a dark baseball cap with the white Nike swoosh symbol on it.
