Suspected Lookout in Mableton Burglary Arrested

The resident was home Saturday night at the time of the burglary.

Cobb authorities have arrested the person who allegedly served as the lookout during a burglary Saturday night in Mableton.

Saul Gonzalez allegedly drove three other unidentified suspects to a Lane Drive home between 9:15 and 9:45 p.m., according to an arrest warrant.

"The victim was home at the time of the burglary and heard the suspects inside his home," Cobb police said. "Upon attempting to flee from the home, one of the suspects fired at least two rounds from a semi-automatic pistol at the victim as he fled from his home on foot."

Gonzalez was arrested early Sunday morning on one count of burglary and one count of aggravated assault. He remains in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center in lieu of $50,000 bond.
