Cobb fire and rescue officials were busy last night, responding to a slew of calls — including responding to trees falling on houses — as the storms blew their way through South Cobb and other parts of metro Atlanta.
The calls began pouring in around 9 p.m. but requests for aid in South Cobb picked up around 3 a.m. said Denell Lee Boyd, a fire department spokeswoman.
There were no reports of tornadoes, but there were several wind-related damage reports, including one call of roof damage on the old BJ's Warehouse building on the East-West Connector, she said.

She also said there were five calls of downed trees and wires, one call of a flooded basement and two calls of downed trees blocking roadways.
The department also received four calls of trees on houses, though there was no major damage to the structures, Boyd said.
