UPDATE: Missing Boy Returned Home Safely

A 12-year-old Smyrna boy has been missing since Monday afternoon. South Cobb residents are being asked to keep their eyes open for him and report any information.

UPDATE Feb. 22 at 11: 12 a.m.: Alejandro Medina was returned home safely this morning, according to Cobb police.

Officials are asking South Cobb residents to be on the lookout for a 12-year-old Cobb County boy who has been missing since Monday evening.

With the day off from , Alejandro Medina spent the afternoon at a friend’s home at the Harmony Falls Apartments on Smyrna-Powder Springs Road in Smyrna.

He talked to his mother on the phone about 6:30 p.m. and left roughly 30 minutes later to walk slightly more than a mile to his home at the Harmony Springs Apartments on Personality Parkway south of the city of Marietta and west of Smyrna.

Alejandro never arrived.

The Crimes Against Children Unit is trying to find Alejandro, who is described as 5-foot-1, 90 to 100 pounds, with a semi-Mohawk haircut. When he left for home, he wore a long-sleeve, gray T-shirt, a Tony Hawk hooded sweatshirt, plaid shorts, and blue-and-black Nike sneakers.

Anyone who has seen Alejandro or has information about his location is asked to call the Cobb police at 770-499-3911.
