Police Identify PNC Bank Robbery Suspect

Public's help needed in finding Irungo James Tate; reward offered.

Powder Springs Police and the FBI have identified a suspect in the Oct. 28 armed robbery of PNC Bank, 3720 New Macland Road, Powder Springs.

Authorities need assistance from the public in locating 32 year-old Irungo James Tate of Mableton. He is described as a black male, 6’1” tall, weighing 195 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. 

Tate was last seen driving a black mid-90’s Honda Accord possibly bearing Georgia tag PIK6367. The vehicle has damage to the hood and front. See photo of similar vehicle accompanying this article.

The suspect has family ties in the metro Atlanta and New Orleans areas and could be located in either. 

There is an active warrant for Tate for the charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

PNC Bank is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the crime.
